If anyone is regularly cheering for Ivan Luca in the tournaments, it's Maria Lampropoulos who's been railing her boyfriend during many deep runs over the last months. This time, she'll only need to look left to see Luca but might not be interested in supporting him that much. The couple made the Eureka 6 Rozvadov final table and they'll be sitting next to each other on the feature table.

While Luca is currently one of the hottest players in the world, Lampropoulos also had a brilliant February at the poker tables. She cashed the EPT12 Dublin Main Event and then marched to the heads-up in the WPTN Brussels Main Event. Lampropoulos earned €68,200 for the second place - the biggest payday of her career. Now she has a chance to better her largest cash twice in less than two weeks with another top two finish. The Argentinian couple is pretty much on the road all the time but they have plans to settle in London, trying to avoid flying overseas back and forth.

Mahmut Yildirim saw a raise to 35,000 by Maria Lampropoulos from under the gun and three-bet to 76,000 from the cutoff. The Argentinian called and then check-called the flop for 100,000. On the turn, Lampropoulos checked again and then folded to a second barrel worth 125,000. Maria Lampropoulos must be the owner of one of the most impressive learning curves in poker. The 36-year-old Argentine poker pro cashed $1,081,110 for the victory, her second career seven-figure cash. Along with the money she also received an entry into the 2019 PokerStars Players No-Limit Hold’em Championship next year.

Lampropoulos had quite the battle to win the tournament. When play began at the final table of six players, she sat third in chips. She worked her way to the final two to face Shawn Buchanan heads-up for the tournament title. When heads-up play started, Buchanan had just over a 2-to-1 chip lead, which would grow to nearly 4 to 1 before Lampropoulos began her comeback.

Two big all-ins allowed Lampropoulos to take over the chip lead. First she was all-in with A-8 against Buchanan’s pocket fours. An ace on the flop gave her top pair and doubled up her chip stack. Not long after, she was all-in pre-flop again with A-10 against Buchanan’s pocket nines. She made a pair of aces again to double up again and take over the chip lead.

On the final hand with Lampropoulos still holding the chip lead, she was all-in with 10c-7c versus Buchanan’s Kh-5s. The flop provided her with all she would need when it showed 10s-9c-5h to give her a pair of 10s. The rest of the board – 2h-9h – provided no help for Buchanan, eliminating him. For second place, he cashed $672,960.

The seven-figure cash in the Caribbean bumped Lampropoulos’ live career earnings up to just under $2.8 million. That puts her second all-time among poker players from Argentina. Her largest career cash came last year in the 2017 partypoker Million, Nottingham. In that tournament she outlasted a 1,204-player field to cash $1,280,000.
